If we think about making tourism in Colombia we can see the pages of the country and appear a problem: the Colombian violence and when did appear the violence in Colombia? With the dead of the leader: Jorge Eliecer Gaitán. And where did Jorge Eliecer Gaitán born? After so much time investigating, finally it appears a plaque that said: “Here was born the 23^rd of January of 1898 the leader Jorge Eliecer Gaitán. The National Liberal Direction in the first centenary of the birth of Dr Jorge Eliecer Gaitán in honor of who would be Verb, Thinking and Action of Colombian Liberalism. Santa Fe of Bogotá D.C., 23^rd of January of 1898.

Sports in Bogota

Bogota is a city full of entertainment and stuff to do. Any person of any age can have a very nice time here in Bogota. As for sports, our city is quite prominent in cycling, bowling, athletics and soccer.

There are different kind of cycling clubs and groups for you to join if you are a cycling lover, or if you are interested in making friends, exchanging ideas and sharing this beautiful sport.

If you like very much bowling, you should go to "Bolicentro" a bowling alley for you to spend time and have fun with your friends located in the mall Unicentro, now, if you take this sport more seriously, you gotta go to a bigger or maybe a professional bowling alley like "La Bolera El Salitre".

As for athletics you can visit the Bogota Athletics League, for training and rehearsing every day, with a special routine schedule or with a private trainer.

Finally, for soccer there are plenty of clubs just for training it. Also there are lots of ways for learning, with friends, in a special league, playing in school. Soccer is the sport with most common interest among children nowadays. Some leagues for example LIFUTBOL (Liga de fútbol de Bogotá) is a private law entity nonprofit who focuses its activity on the field promoting amateur football in the capital of the Republic, with projections to the official tournaments, special, national, with the unconditional participation of the Executive Committee, officers, amateur clubs, and guests. It accepts female and male, and trains them strictly until reach the proposed goals.

PARKS AT BOGOTA

There are different kinds of parks here at Bogota; those for being relaxed and connected with nature, those for walking and knowing people and also, those for having an extreme time with family or friends....

If you want to chill out and be relaxed, the perfect places could be the botanical garden for being connected with flowers and generally with nature, Jaime Duque's park or maybe Panaca.

Now, if you want to walk, take pictures and know people you should go to Parque de la 93, Parque del Virrey or perhaps Parque Simon Bolivar which is perfect for hanging out with your couple.

Finally, if you want to break the routine, challenge you emotions with extreme machines or just if you want to change plans, I've got the exact place for you; Salitre Magico is an amusement park with a lot of fun and a perfect place for hang out with friends, also Mundo Aventura with different sections and plenty of attractions like: The spider, Dark Ride, Icarus, Xtreme, Black hole, the hammer, Bumper cars among more, will guarantee you total fun.

Candelaria's restaurants

Candelaria is commonly credited with being the tourist zone in Bogota, republican architecture and many national and international restaurants, such as santafereño's food, French, Antioquian, Cuban, valluno, Santander and Arabic, among others.

To find typical Cuban food visit "Moros y Cristianos", the name referred to a typical rice with beans on the island. For French food we have "Pasteleria Francesa" and the restaurant "Patisserie Francaise." Vallecaucana's food can be found in "Fulanitos" as well as authentic food santafereño's in "La Puerta Falsa", a former haven for gentlemen depleted by six hours of sermons in Latin, scurrying through the back door to drown their boredom in "chicha". We also find Arabic food served directly by the deaf mute owner who prepares exquisite seasoning.

The Candelaria’s theater

The Candelaria’s theater had created several national plays and presented them in national festivals, and international festivals demonstrating Colombian and others nation’s cultures. It was founded in 1966 from a group of artists of all around Colombia. Since the beginning of the theater group La Candelaria is an overriding concern was to work for public access to the theater and popular ownership of the national drama. Adaptations of works were made as “soldados” and the national Alvaro Cepeda Samudio “padre”, directed by Carlos José Reyes and some experiments that were named Magic, who were free to create experiences together between theater people and artists of the plastic. In this moment it’s located at the historical Candelaria´s zone. As the Candelaria’s theater and near it is the “casa de la cultura” which is painted with street art and on its top there is a phrase that said: “curtain of the time, images of dreams, dancing more than running the wind, harmony and color display”, by Sone, demonstrates as good as well the significance of dramatization.

Corferia

Corferia is the international center of businesses and expositions; it was opened on October of 1954. It contains 22 pavilions, a food court, parking lot and information points. In the city is the center of this type bigger of the city and during the whole year is taking part of expositions and fairs such as: “La Feria Internacional Del Libro”, “Agroespo”, “International Footwear & Leather Show”, “Feria de las Colonias”, Feria de la Belleza y de la Salud”, “Feria de Hogar”, “Proflora”, “Expociencia”, “Artbo”, “Expoartesanias” and others.
